COVID-19 Updates
March 12, 2020 Update
There is no higher priority to our entire Ingleside family than the safety of our residents and staff members.
Per guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the DC Department of Health, Virginia Department of Health (VDH), and the Maryland Department of Health (MDH) and as a preventative measure we will be not be allowing visitors to our communities as of March 12, 2020. We are working closely with families for limited exceptions in certain situations. The CMS guidance states:
“Limiting means the individual should not be allowed to come into the facility, except for certain situations, such as end-of-life situations or when a visitor is essential for the resident’s emotional well-being and care.”
We are continuing to provide updates to our residents and staff, including the most recent CDC and World Health Organization information and prevention guidelines. Additionally, out of an abundance of caution, the communities have implemented the following:
Events and Excursions
- Social distancing and limiting community programs to groups of 20 residents and staff.
- All large group events have been suspended.
- Postponement of events that included outside visitors.
- Onsite marketing events have moved to online presentations.
- Transportation services will cease operations effective Friday, 3/13/2020 to remain in alignment with ‘social distancing’.
Increased Cleaning Procedures
- Cleaning in high traffic areas (i.e. doorknobs, handrails, tabletops, chairs).
- Cleaning before and after resident gatherings including dining areas.
- Sanitizer stations throughout community.
Staff protocols
- Employees returning from a Level 3 risk identified countries as per the CDC will not be able to return to work until 14 days have passed following their reentry.
- Any employee exhibiting respiratory symptoms and/or fever will not be permitted to work.
- If an employee is not cleared to return to work, your community human resources team will take whatever steps we can to address the needs of the employee, while still protecting residents and staff.
